Implementation of Model “RSM2”A Reliable and Scalable Multicast Model
نویسنده
چکیده
We describe a Model RSM2 (A Reliable and Scalable Multicast Model). The approach we adopt uses Proactive-Routing, Minimum-Cost Path Algorithm, Combo-casting, Active Server Based Recovery, NACKBased acknowledgement, Buffer Management, Optimized Flooding Algorithm. The main characteristic of RSM2 model is, to provide complete multicasting, i.e. at the same time more than one node can act as sender. This model provides one-to-many communications as well as many-to-many communications. Through this model, we tried to create an improvement over RMTP. To describe the generality of this Model, we have designed an algorithm MCPA(Minimum Cost Path Algorithm).

A Formal Venture into Reliable Multicast Territory
In this paper, we present a formal model of the reliable multicast service that ensures eventual packet delivery with, possibly, some timeliness guarantees. This model dictates precisely what it means to be a member of the reliable multicast group and which packets are guaranteed delivery to which members of the group. Moreover, it is reasonable, implementable, and broad; that is, it captures t...
متن کاملFormally modeling, analyzing, and designing network protocols: a case study on retransmission-based reliable multicast protocols
In this thesis, we conduct an extensive case study on formally modeling, analyzing, and designing retransmission-based reliable multicast protocols. We first present an abstract model of the communication service that several reliable multicast protocols [12, 13, 32–34] strive to provide. This model precisely specifies i) what it means to be a member of the reliable multicast group, ii) which p...
متن کاملScalability of Multicast Communication over Wide-Area Networks
A multitude of interesting applications require multicast over wide-area networks. As these applications grow in popularity, issues concerning scalability of the underlying protocols that support both unreliable and reliable multicast become important. This paper makes several intellectual contributions related to scalable multicast protocols. First, we present a model that captures the essenti...
متن کاملReal-Time Control and Management of Distributed Applications using IP-Multicast
A central issue within any distributed computer environment is how to control and manage running applications. This paper presents an implementation of a framework for control and management of distributed applications and components using IPmulticast. The framework allows for easy and scalable control of single applications, groups of applications or parts of applications using a new agent bas...
متن کاملTCP-SMO: Extending TCP to Support Medium-Scale Multicast Applications
Scalable reliable multicast protocols have been a focus of recent research, tackling the problem of efficient reliable data delivery to an arbitrarily large number of receivers. Yet, the common applications of multicast, such as multi-point file delivery, or video streaming from a media server, typically only involve a moderate number of receivers, such as a thousand or fewer. Moreover, because...
